6 of my Favorite Ab Exercises #classics (or should be)

I don't know about you, but for as long as I can remember, I was always told that doing sit-ups and crunches was the key to getting stronger and seeing my abs.

But let's be real, how many of us have done them and not seen any results?

🤚 Raise your hand if you're like me and all you noticed was that your posture suffered and you got bored doing the same exercises over and over again.

Well, what if I told you that you could build a strong core by simply standing and holding a weight in one hand? And the best part is, it'll improve your posture too!

Let me paint you a picture. Imagine you just finished grocery shopping and the only parking spot you could find was in the very last row, right in front of the cute little patch of grass with a single tree planted by the local elementary school. Yeah, all the way back there.

You've got two full bags of groceries, and as you start walking towards your car, you notice your posture starting to sag, your shoulders tilting towards the left (the heavier bag), and your back starting to hurt.

Believe it or not, this grocery store walk is actually an ab workout!

In the fitness world, we call this a farmer carry, and it's one of my favorite core exercises. Holding just one weight at your side prompts you to use your core, posture, and back muscles to re-center yourself and stay upright.

I've put together a beginner-friendly PDF with video links, written cues, and pictures of this exercise and five more that you probably didn't even realize were working on your core. I do these exercises myself as well as give them to my clients. And let me tell you, I've seen so much more progress with these than any crunch.

So, are you ready to switch up your core workout routine?

Shoot me your email and I'll send you the PDF asap. It comes with pictures, video links, audio, and written cues to help you get the most out of each exercise.
